Ukraine has introduced automatic military registration for citizens: what you need to know

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution to launch a pilot project for automatic military registration of citizens. This decision reduces bureaucracy and allows the state to obtain accurate data on conscripts and reservists.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The government’s decision provides for the automatic registration of conscripts, military conscripts, and reservists without the need to personally apply to territorial recruitment and social support centers.
The following will be automatically registered:
- Men who did not register at age 17 receive conscript status upon reaching age 18;
- Men aged 18–60 who are abroad, when receiving or exchanging passport documents at the units of the State Migration Service without visiting the CCC and passing a military medical commission.
“We have established data exchange between the Ministry of Defense, the Migration Service, the Demographic Register and the Register of Civil Status Acts. A person no longer needs to run around offices and stand in queues to fulfill his duty. The system will do this automatically, because it already has all the necessary data,” commented Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development Oksana Ferchuk.
The project provides for gradual implementation throughout Ukraine and allows for prompt updating of information about citizens registered in the military.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that all men aged 25 to 60 who were not registered in the military and did not use the “Reserve+” application were automatically included in the Unified Register of Conscripts “Oberig” . Now they may receive fines for violating the registration rules.
By the way, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the government’s decision to simplify military registration . Now young men will be able to register remotely via an application, and men aged 25 to 60 who have not been registered without legal grounds will be registered automatically.
