Ukraine is opening another route for gas supplies from Europe.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in his address, announcing the agreements reached with Greece.
“We’ve already prepared an agreement with Greece on gas for Ukraine. This will be another gas supply route to secure Ukraine’s gas import routes as much as possible this winter,” the head of state noted.
The President emphasized that Ukraine has already secured funding for the gas imports needed to offset the losses in domestic production due to Russian missile strikes. He stated that this funding amounts to nearly 2 billion euros .
“Our European partners are helping, European banks are providing guarantees from the European Commission, Ukrainian banks are also helping, Norway is helping, and active work continues with American partners – full funding will be provided,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The Ukrainian government also allocated financial resources for gas imports, which will allow for a stable winter and protect the energy system from the consequences of Russian aggression.
It is known that the only oil refinery in Hungary is ready to abandon Russian oil and increase the share of raw materials from other countries.
