Ukrainian defense forces were able to recapture approximately 400 square kilometers of territory after Russian troops blocked access to Starlink satellite communications.

Bloomberg reports this, citing data from the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).

According to the DIA and U.S. European Command, the Russian occupying forces’ military capabilities were “temporarily but significantly weakened” after the deactivation of thousands of Starlink terminals in February at the request of Ukrainian officials.

Another blow to Russian military communications was the Kremlin’s decision to block the Telegram messenger, which was actively used by the Russian military.

At the same time, American intelligence notes that already in March, Russian troops again had an overall advantage over the Ukrainian Armed Forces “in most combat functions.”

As a reminder, counterintelligence and SBU cyber specialists detained two Ukrainian citizens who agreed to register Starlink for the Russian occupiers . They face life imprisonment.

As reported, Russian Rassvet satellites are already capable of creating an alternative communications channel over Ukraine for the needs of the Russian army.
