Ukraine has completed repairs to the section of the Druzhba oil pipeline damaged by the Russian strike and is ready to resume its operation.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this.

Despite the remaining risk of further Russian attacks, Ukrainian specialists have ensured the basic conditions for the resumption of pipeline and equipment operations.

Kyiv associates the completion of the repairs with the expected release of the EU financial support package previously approved by the European Council. Ukraine also expects further steps from its partners to open negotiating clusters, noting that its part of the obligations has already been fulfilled.

The need to strengthen sanctions pressure on Russia and continue work to diversify energy supplies to Europe in order to reduce dependence on the aggressor country is emphasized.

Earlier, Zelensky announced that repairs to the Druzhba oil pipeline, damaged by Russian attacks, are planned to be completed this spring .

Ukraine recently agreed to the European Union’s offer of financial and technical assistance to restore the pipeline.

As a reminder, in March, European leaders failed to persuade Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to abandon his decision to block a 90 billion euro loan for Ukraine.

It is known that Orban stated in Brussels that Budapest will not unblock the decision in favor of Ukraine until the Druzhba oil pipeline resumes operation .
