Ukraine has simplified the rules for storing medicines: what will change?
The Cabinet of Ministers has allowed pharmaceutical companies to store medicines outside of the warehouses listed in the license register. The new rules should help avoid disruptions in the supply of medicines and reduce the risk of loss of stocks due to Russian attacks.
This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The changes will be in effect until the end of martial law. From now on, pharmaceutical companies will be able to use:

- additional warehouses that are not included in their license register;

- warehouses of other companies, if they have the appropriate license.
Also, companies will not need to separately confirm the compliance of premises with production and distribution requirements if one pharmaceutical company stores another’s medicines in its own licensed warehouse.
Additional warehouses will allow not only the storage of medicines, but also the release and shipment of them.
The Ministry of Health explained that this will allow for the distribution of drug stocks between different locations and a faster response to security threats. If products are moved to an additional warehouse, they can immediately continue to be supplied to consumers without first returning them to the main warehouse.
At the same time, the requirements for the conditions and safety of drug storage remain in force. Regardless of the storage location, drugs must be kept in proper conditions.
It was previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers has expanded the state program “Affordable Medicines”. Starting in September 2026, more Ukrainians will be able to receive free test strips to monitor blood sugar levels.
