Ukraine sent a revised version of its peace plan to Washington following a phone call between US President Donald Trump and the leaders of Great Britain, France, and Germany.
Bloomberg reports this, citing its sources.
Kyiv handed over the latest version of the document during a separate conversation between Trump, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on December 10.
Axios journalist Barak Ravid also reported that the Ukrainian side submitted its response to the peace plan to the US that same day. According to him, lengthy negotiations between Washington and Kyiv resulted in a document more acceptable to Ukraine, although it still contains several contentious provisions, primarily regarding territories and security guarantees.
Bloomberg writes that three documents are currently being discussed:
• general framework for ending the war,
• security guarantees for Ukraine,
• country recovery plan.
As Axios reports, National Security and Defense Council Secretary and chief negotiator Rustem Umerov conveyed Kyiv’s official response to Trump’s adviser and son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The document contains comments and revisions that, according to the source, should make the process “realistic and feasible.”
Before the dispatch, Ukraine’s position was coordinated for several days with its European partners, primarily the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. In its response, Ukraine also included new proposals for resolving complex issues, particularly territorial matters and the situation surrounding the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
As a reminder, the Trump administration’s preliminary ceasefire plan calls for the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donbas and Luhansk regions , as well as the freezing of the contact line in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
It should be noted that following the negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations in Geneva, the US peace plan for Ukraine underwent significant changes.
As is known, Ukraine has given preliminary consent to the American peace proposal to end the war, but the process is slowed by a complete lack of response from Russia.
Incidentally, US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the war in Ukraine has proven more difficult than in the Middle East, although he expects good news in the near future .
