Ukraine has surpassed the US in implementing advanced F-16 tactics

Ukrainian F-16 fighter pilots are actively adapting the tactics of dispersed operations and are already demonstrating results in countering enemy drones and cruise missiles. According to pilots and analysts, it is on the battlefield in real conditions that our aviation is the first to practice techniques that the United States is only beginning to integrate into its practice.

The publication mentions an article in Air & Space Forces Magazine, where one of the Ukrainian pilots with the call sign “AB” shared his experience during a visit to the Mitchell Institute. According to his calculations, the pilot unit to which he belongs has eliminated more than 1,000 long-range drones, including “Shaheeds”, and also repelled numerous cruise missile attacks – hundreds of air battles have already ended in favor of the Ukrainian crews.
Pilots and technical personnel don’t just follow standard procedures – they create their own tactics, procedures, and technical deviations that increase the survivability of aircraft and the effectiveness of defense in the face of constant attacks.
Despite the fact that a significant part of Ukrainian F-16s are not the latest modifications, their combat capability confirms that the right tactics and approach can compensate for the lack of top configurations.
At the same time, pilots emphasize the urgent need for enhanced electronic warfare and secure communication channels. These systems currently determine how effectively the guided “shaheeds” can be countered. Also among the priorities are the supply of more modern F-16 Block 70 versions and a larger number of guided missiles, which will significantly expand the strike and defensive capabilities of aviation.
As a reminder, Belgium previously presented a large-scale support package for Ukraine . The country will allocate 1 billion euros annually, provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, and help restore infrastructure.
At the same time, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the number of F-16 fighters that Ukraine received from partners is not able to guarantee full protection in the air .
