Updated rules for international road transport (TIR), adopted at the United Nations level, have come into force in Ukraine. The changes provide for the extension of the inspection periods for vehicles to three years and the clarification of the validity of certificates under customs seals, which will allow carriers to reduce the cost of time and resources, as well as ensure the continuity of transportation.
This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
It is noted that the updated TIR rules have become mandatory for all countries participating in the Convention, including Ukraine, and are aimed at unifying approaches to organizing international road transport. They are intended to reduce the administrative burden on business and increase the predictability of transportation.
One of the key innovations was the extension of the mandatory inspection period for vehicles. Previously, the inspection was carried out every two years, now every three years. Accordingly, certificates of admission of vehicles to the transportation of goods under customs seals and stamps are also valid for three years. This allows carriers to save time and resources on repeated inspections.
Another important clarification concerns the validity of certificates in the event of their expiration during transportation. If the vehicle has started transportation before the expiration of the certificate, the document remains valid until the cargo is delivered to the customs office of the final destination. This approach guarantees the continuity of logistics and reduces the risk of unforeseen delays along the route.
The introduced changes have already been entered into the Unified State Register of Regulatory Legal Acts of Ukraine, and their application is mandatory on the territory of our state.
According to experts, the updated rules create more favorable conditions for planning the activities of carriers, reduce the risk of delays, and increase the level of trust of international partners in the Ukrainian customs control system.
The day before, Ukraine officially published a government resolution allowing men aged 18 to 22 years old to leave during martial law . At the same time, the document establishes a number of restrictions and exceptions, in particular for officials and reserved employees.
It is known that Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported that the Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution that allows Ukrainian men aged 18 to 22 to cross the state border without hindrance even during martial law. As reported, men aged 18 to 22 will need to have a military registration document to travel abroad.
By the way, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted new rules that allow female deputies of local councils working on a voluntary basis to cross the state border during martial law.
