Ukraine is being attacked by a solar storm: the magnetic storm reaches its peak

Згенеровано ШІ

A serious geomagnetic disturbance is approaching the Earth on Tuesday, September 2. According to international monitoring systems, the geomagnetic activity index (K-index) may reach 6.7 in the afternoon. This corresponds to the level of a magnetic storm of medium and high intensity — G2–G3.

This is evidenced by meteoagent data.

Such phenomena often affect people’s well-being. Weather-dependent people are especially sensitive to changes in the magnetic field: headaches, decreased performance, drops in blood pressure, irritability, and general weakness are possible. Doctors advise avoiding stress on such days, getting more rest, monitoring water balance, and not overloading the body.

In addition to their health effects, geomagnetic storms can also cause problems for satellite communications, GPS navigation, and other systems sensitive to changes in the magnetosphere. At the same time, residents of some latitudes may witness a rare natural phenomenon – the aurora borealis.

Forecaster Natalka Didenko urged people to pay attention to their health during days of increased solar activity:

“Serious magnetic storms are expected. Take a close look at your well-being and the condition of your loved ones, especially the elderly – headaches, pressure instability, and other symptoms may occur,” she warned.

So September 2 may not only be a day of natural disturbances, but also a challenge for the body and technology.

Recall that on September 1, the Earth was covered by a powerful magnetic storm caused by a series of solar flares. Scientists predict fluctuations in the planet’s magnetic field, which may cause disruptions in communications and power systems, the appearance of the northern lights in Europe, and a deterioration in the well-being of weather-sensitive people.
