Ukraine Nears Completion of Domestic Ballistic Missile Development – Shmyhal

Ukraine is actively developing its ballistic missiles, with successful results expected soon. This will provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the capability to conduct deep strikes into Russian territory.

This was stated by Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal in an interview with BBC News Ukraine.

Shmyhal stated that soon we will witness the deployment of Ukrainian ballistic missiles and the consistent destruction of targets within Russia. Ukraine is nearing completion of its ballistic missile development.

The Minister of Defense also recalled that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already announced the production of indigenous ballistic missiles.

“We are very close to this achievement. This is essentially all I can disclose publicly on the matter,” the Defense Minister said.

It was previously reported that the Ukrainian ballistic missile system “Sapsan” was repeatedly tested at the front, hitting targets in Russia and in temporarily occupied territories.

By the way, the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, announced the start of mass production by Ukraine of its ballistic missile “Sapsan”.

As is known, the number of hits on Russian command posts increased in May, which may indicate that Ukraine is testing its ballistic missiles.
