Ukraine is negotiating with partners to increase gas imports: the Ministry of Energy revealed details

Amid increasing Russian attacks on the energy system, Ukraine plans to increase gas imports by a third and has already begun negotiations with international partners.
This was stated by Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk in comments to RBC-Ukraine and Ukrinform .
“We plan to increase import capacity by another 30%,” she said.
According to her, this mainly concerns gas imports in October and November, however, Ukraine will also import “blue fuel” in other months of the heating season.
The Minister has already discussed gas import plans with G7 representatives. Work is currently underway to increase the EBRD loan by $500 million, as well as the European Investment Bank grant by €300 million.
“We have just discussed the possibilities of expanding these loans, and with some countries we are discussing the possibility of providing assistance on a grant basis to increase natural gas imports,” Grinchuk informed.
In addition, negotiations are underway to provide Ukrainian energy companies with humanitarian assistance, in particular, equipment for restoring power grids in front-line regions.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy stated that gas accumulation is taking place according to the approved schedule , and available resources, including imported supplies, will allow to meet the needs of the population.
As is known, Russia has recently intensified attacks on the Ukrainian energy grid, in particular on gas installations , which are key components of the country’s heating system.
