Ukraine is preparing for different scenarios of events in the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction – Zelensky

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held regular meetings with commanders of army corps. The main attention was paid to the needs of the front, the protection of border regions, the strengthening of air defense, and possible scenarios for the development of the situation in the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction.

The president announced this on Telegram.

This time, the head of state, together with Yevhen Khmara and Pavlo Palisa, spoke with the commanders of the 9th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 18th, 21st Army Corps, as well as the 30th Marine Corps.

“Thank you for the suggestions. The commanders reported on the state of affairs in the relevant areas and the activity of the Russian army, the enemy’s plans and our countermeasure capabilities,” Zelensky noted.

According to him, during the meeting, the situation with the defense of Kherson, as well as cities and communities of the Dnipropetrovsk region, in particular Nikopol, was separately analyzed.

The President reported that the key topics were the fight against Russian drones, the protection of civilians, and additional support for Ukrainian units.

“There was a report on our preparation for various scenarios of events in the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction, taking into account intelligence information and the Russians’ constant search for additional ways to prolong and expand the war,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

The meeting participants also discussed the need to strengthen front-line air defense and made the necessary decisions to continue the corps reform in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
