Ukraine is preparing for new negotiations with the US: Zelensky revealed details
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a Ukrainian delegation will hold talks with the United States on October 9 and 10. At the same time, he called on Washington to increase economic pressure on Russia, rather than discuss future cooperation with it.
Reuters reports this.
During a visit to Pryluky together with British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian negotiators would meet with the American side on Friday and Saturday.
The president also responded to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s statement that peace talks had reached an impasse.
Zelensky disagreed with this assessment and emphasized that the US should tighten sanctions against Russia instead of offering Moscow economic projects.
“You can’t, on the one hand, negotiate with Russia about some economic projects for the future, and on the other hand, talk about a diplomatic deadlock. We are not in a diplomatic deadlock. Close the entire economy to it. Sew up Russia’s mouth. Don’t feed them with your sales, impose sanctions on their weapons,” the president said.
It was previously reported that there are currently no prospects for resolving the war in Ukraine through diplomatic means . At the same time, the United States is ready to continue to play a constructive role in finding a solution.
