Ukraine is preparing for the transition to winter time: when to change the clocks

On the night of October 24-25, 2026, Ukraine will switch to winter time. At 04:00, clocks will need to be set back 1 hour – to 03:00.

After changing the clocks, the day will actually last 1 hour longer.

In Ukraine, the transition to winter time traditionally takes place on the last Sunday of October, and to summer time – on the last Sunday of March. The procedure for calculating time is regulated by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated May 13, 1996 No. 509.

On July 16, 2024, the Verkhovna Rada adopted Bill No. 4201, which provided for the abolition of seasonal clock changes and the establishment of a single Kyiv time of UTC+2.

According to this document, the transition to winter time in October 2024 was to be the last, and no change to summer time was planned from 2025.

However, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not yet signed the law, so the seasonal clock change in Ukraine continues.
