Ukrainian ballistic and cruise missiles will be launched into mass production in early 2026.
This was reported on the air of “Kyiv24” by the former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ihor Romanenko.
“According to experts, if not by the end of this year, then, more likely, by the beginning of next year, the Sapsan, Flamingo, and a number of other missile programs will already be on the way,” he assured.
Romanenko emphasized that launching such production is difficult, because the missile complex requires many components.
The former official added that the missile program was developed in 2022, and as of now there are results in certain areas. In particular, we are talking about the Long Neptune, as well as the Sapsan ballistic missile.
“When it (the Sapsan – ed.) was being developed, it had better characteristics than the Iskander. But we see: they are producing the Iskander on a large scale, and we are still working to put it (the Sapsan – ed.) into production, into production,” he concluded.
Earlier, the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, announced the start of mass production by Ukraine of its own ballistic missile “Sapsan”.
As it became known, the Ukrainian ballistic missile system “Sapsan” was repeatedly tested at the front , hitting targets in Russia and in temporarily occupied territories.
By the way, Ukraine has received a new generation cruise missile called “Flamingo.” Its warhead weighs one ton.
It is worth noting that the media reported the beginning of mass production of a new generation of cruise missiles called “Flamingo” , which are capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 3,000 kilometers.
