Ukraine plans to begin technical tests of the Druzhba oil pipeline, which transports Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia, on April 21.

Bloomberg writes about this.

Oil transit was halted in late January after damage caused by Russian attacks.

Repair and launch of the pipeline could pave the way for Ukraine to receive a €90 billion EU loan.

The future Prime Minister of Hungary, Peter Magyar, stated that he would not block the loan, but insisted on the resumption of oil supplies through Druzhba.

At the same time, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico also supports financing Ukraine, but threatens to block a new package of sanctions against Russia if he does not receive guarantees of the operation of the oil pipeline.

The head of the Hungarian company MOL is planning a trip to Russia this week for supply negotiations.

As previously reported, in February, EU foreign ministers were unable to agree on the 20th package of sanctions against Russia due to Hungary’s veto.

As a reminder, Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar said that Bratislava is ready to block the 20th package of EU sanctions against Russia. However, the country will not prevent Ukraine from receiving a billion-dollar loan.
