Ukraine is preparing to test a new ballistic missile on targets in Russia

Ukraine is testing new FP-7 ballistic missiles, which are analogues of the American ATACMS. The first launches have already taken place.

This was stated in an interview with Channel 24 by Denis Shtilerman, co-founder and chief designer of the defense company Fire Point.

According to him, the next stage of testing, which the developers are already moving on to, is missile strikes on facilities in Russia.

“The flight has already taken place. Now we are moving on to testing on our “beloved” neighbors,” the designer noted.

The Ukrainian missile is similar to the American one, but the cost of the FP-7 is significantly lower than that of the ATACMS. Ukraine produces all components, except for the warhead, independently.

As noted, the new ballistic missile will be able to hit targets at a distance of up to 300 kilometers.

Recall that in November, new details became known about the Ukrainian Fire Point ballistic missiles – FP-7 and FP-9 , which are to become one of the key elements of Ukraine’s long-range missile potential. The most noticeable is their external similarity to the Russian 48N6 missiles from the S-400 complex.

It was previously reported that the Fire Point company plans to transfer its serial FP-7 ballistic missile to the Ukrainian army.
