Ukraine is testing a system to warn gas stations about the approach of Russian drones
Ukraine is testing a software solution that will automatically warn gas stations of approaching Russian drones. The system will allow it to determine the direction of movement of drones and respond to the threat in advance.
This was announced by Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky.
According to him, Russian troops have significantly intensified attacks on gas stations, particularly in Kyiv and on international routes. The main task is the safety of staff and visitors and ensuring the safe delivery of petroleum products.
To enhance security, a meeting was held with the participation of market operators, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the National Security and Defense Council, the State Emergency Service, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the meeting, the installation of additional protective structures and the arrangement of shelters were discussed.
“We are already testing a software solution that will allow us to see the direction of drone movement and respond to the threat in advance. We are testing it at gas stations – in parallel, we are connecting other businesses,” Koretsky said.
The ministers were instructed to accelerate the implementation of the system as much as possible. The meeting also discussed the balance of petroleum products, logistics, and the price situation. Separately, an action plan was determined for rail connections and simplification of customs procedures for fuel trucks. Coordination of actions with business during the crisis is planned to be carried out regularly.
As a reminder, Russian occupation forces attacked Kyiv with drones on the morning of September 11. Two Ukrnafta gas stations in different areas of the capital were hit.
As previously reported, a Russian drone attacked a gas station in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, injuring three people . Fires also broke out at the scene, which were quickly extinguished by rescuers.
It should be noted that information has been circulating on social media about possible strikes by Russian forces with drones on more than 20 gas stations in Kyiv. Residents of the capital are urged not to be near gas stations during an air raid alert.
