Ukraine launches “logistics lockdown” for the Russian army – Fedorov
Ukraine is launching a separate “Logistics Lockdown” program, which involves scaling up strikes on the Russian army’s logistics infrastructure and logistics.
This was reported by Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov.
According to him, the main task of the program is to increase pressure on Russian troops and deprive them of the opportunity to actively attack.
Fedorov said that Ukraine is gradually seizing the initiative at the front, and the cost of advancement for the Russian army is constantly increasing. If in October the occupiers lost 67 soldiers per square kilometer of advancement, then in April – already 179.
Also, according to the minister, Russia loses more than 35,000 killed or seriously wounded every month.
Fedorov reported that in recent months, Ukraine has quadrupled the destruction of enemy logistics, warehouses, equipment, command posts, and supply routes at operational depth.
Within the first stage of the program, the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff allocated an additional UAH 5 billion for the purchase of modern middle strike weapons for the most effective units.
At the same time, the state is launching centralized tenders for large batches of such equipment. According to Fedorov, the results of new purchases should have a tangible impact on the situation on the front as early as this summer.
As a reminder, Ukraine has contracted a record batch of 155 mm long-range artillery shells for the Defense Forces . Thanks to competition between manufacturers, the state managed to save billions of hryvnias and purchase even more ammunition for the front.
