Ukraine has begun mass production of Octopus interceptor drones designed to combat “shaheeds.” The technology has already been transferred to three manufacturers, and eleven more companies are preparing their production facilities.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“Octopus” is a Ukrainian technology for intercepting strike drones, developed by specialists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The department noted that the system has proven its effectiveness in combat conditions.
According to the ministry, the interceptor is capable of operating at night, under active electronic jamming, and at low altitudes. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that these characteristics allow it to effectively respond to air attacks.
The report notes that the technology has been transferred to the first three manufacturers to set up mass production. Eleven more Ukrainian companies are already preparing their own production lines.
The ministry noted that the launch of serial production should ensure the fastest possible delivery of interceptors to units that protect Ukrainian skies.
The Ministry of Defense also stated that it continues to implement a policy of open interaction with domestic manufacturers. According to the department, this creates conditions for a prompt transition from innovative developments to serial combat solutions that strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
It was previously reported that the United Kingdom will manufacture new OCTOPUS interceptor drones for Ukraine , which are designed to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities. The agreement was reached during a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London.
By the way, the Wild Hornets team announced the creation of a new STING fighter jet interceptor , which has already proven its effectiveness on the front. In four months of serial production, the defenders of Ukraine shot down over a thousand STING fighters and gerberas, almost half of them in October.
We remind you that the participants of the Brave1 cluster, together with the 3rd assault brigade, created a unique drone with artificial intelligence .
