Ukraine Rolls Out New Generation of Remote Air Defense — Fedorov

Ukraine is launching a new level of so-called “small” air defense systems that can remotely control interceptor drones.

This was reported by Defense Minister Mykhaylo Fedorov.

According to him, a year ago, the Brave1 defense innovation cluster began developing this technology. Currently, Ukraine has confirmed results: drones successfully intercept targets from hundreds to thousands of kilometers away.

This is a fundamentally new approach to air defense. Operators are no longer tied to positions on the front line—drones are controlled from protected locations in the rear or even abroad.

This allows for increased interception efficiency, reduced risk to pilots, and the scaling of the system without being tied to the line of combat.

Currently, more than 10 manufacturers have already integrated remote control solutions into their systems.

According to the minister, Ukraine continues to develop defense innovations to achieve 100% detection of air targets and at least 95% neutralization.
