The Ukrainian Air Force lost a MiG-29 fighter jet while performing a combat mission in the Odessa region on the evening of August 10. The pilot successfully ejected.
This is reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The pilot was performing a combat mission to destroy air targets of Russian troops.
According to preliminary data, an emergency situation occurred during the launch of an aircraft missile. The fighter caught fire, after which the pilot lost control of the plane.
The pilot tried to save the fighter, but was eventually forced to eject.
The pilot landed successfully. He was evacuated to a medical facility.
The causes of the emergency situation and the loss of the fighter jet are currently being determined.
