Ukraine must stop oil transit from Russia – appeal of NGO “Defense of the State”

The public organization “Defense of the State” publicly appeals to Ukrainian society, people’s deputies, and political factions with a call to immediately stop the transit of Russian oil through the territory of Ukraine.

This is stated in an appeal by “State Defense” published on social networks.

This is the Druzhba oil pipeline, through which more than 250,000 barrels of crude oil are supplied to Europe daily, despite a full-scale war.

It was through this pipe that Russia received at least $6 billion in profits last year — funds that were used to manufacture weapons that are used daily against Ukraine.

Among the main importers are Hungary and Slovakia, which at the same time pursue a consistent anti-Ukrainian policy: blocking EU sanctions, questioning Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the European Union, and sometimes even openly repeating the Kremlin’s narratives. Despite this, the Ukrainian government has not yet stopped the transit of Russian oil.

The NGO “Defense of the State” emphasizes: this is not a question of economics – it is a question of morality, national security, and dignity. After all, the oil pipeline that pumps money to the aggressor is nothing more than a channel of complicity in the war.

Against the backdrop of possible personnel decisions in the executive branch, public activists are appealing to all parliamentary factions: do not vote for the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers if the promise to stop transit through Druzhba is not among the priority items of the government program.

The NGO “Defense of the State” also calls on European countries — in particular those who buy this oil — to completely abandon purchases that directly finance the Russian army.

“With every barrel that passes through this pipe, Ukraine loses time and Russia gains ammunition. This cannot go on forever,” the organization said in a statement.
