Ukraine plans to lower the driving age: details of the bill

In Ukraine, the rules for obtaining a driver’s license may be changed and drivers may be allowed to drive earlier than they are now.

This is stated in the draft law registered in the Verkhovna Rada.

The document proposes to allow people from the age of 15 to obtain licenses to drive mopeds and light quadricycles.

The deputies also want to allow people from the age of 17 to drive a car, but with the condition that a driver with at least two years of experience must be nearby.

Currently, such certificates are only issued to those aged 18 and over.

At the same time, the rules for powerful motorcycles may be made stricter. They will allow you to get behind the wheel either from the age of 20 with experience, or from the age of 24 without it.

The bill has yet to be considered by the people’s deputies, so these changes have not yet been adopted.
