Ukraine plans to start producing missiles for Patriot by the end of 2026 – Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine expects to obtain the technical ability to produce missiles for American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems on its own by the end of 2026.

The head of state announced this following the results of the “Ukraine – South-Eastern Europe” summit.

According to Zelensky, a corresponding agreement was reached with the United States.

“We expect to have the opportunity to technically produce American missiles with our own forces by the Ukrainian team by the end of 2026,” the president said.

He also noted that Ukraine has separate agreements with European Union countries, in particular France and Italy, regarding obtaining permits for the production of missiles for SAMP/T systems.

“We reached an agreement with the French side, and the Italian side supported the relevant decisions,” Zelenskyy clarified.

The President reported that Ukraine has also agreed to obtain licenses for the production of SCALP and Aster-30 missiles and expects to complete this process by the end of 2026.

In addition, according to the head of state, Ukraine is expecting the supply of new-generation SAMP/T NG systems, which will be capable of intercepting ballistic missiles.

Separately, Zelenskyy reported on the positive decision of the French side regarding a license to produce AASM Hammer guided aerial bombs.

“This time we received a positive conclusion from the French side regarding the AASM Hammer – these are guided bombs,” the president noted.

It was previously reported that the United States has begun the process of granting Ukraine a license to produce missiles for Patriot systems , moving this issue from the political plane to practical implementation.
