President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the preparation of another prisoner exchange with Russia. Ukraine calls on Moscow for a new meeting and is ready for a substantive dialogue to return its people.

He spoke about this in an evening video address .

The President stated that the Ukrainian side is actively working on another prisoner exchange. The Russians were also invited to hold a new round of negotiations next week to continue the agreements reached at the previous meeting in Istanbul.

According to the head of state, work is currently underway to return Ukrainian military personnel and civilians, as well as children taken away by the Russians. The president separately noted that Ukraine is ready for constructive talks on a ceasefire, but insists on humanitarian issues as a priority. In particular, the exchange of prisoners.

Zelenskyy reported that Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov has already addressed the Russian side with the initiative to hold another meeting next week. It will probably concern the continuation of discussions on the humanitarian block of agreements.

The President also mentioned other important developments: Ukraine continues to synchronize its sanctions policy against Russia with partners, including countries outside the EU. At the same time, negotiations are underway with the United States on strengthening air defense, weapons purchases, and new contracts for the supply of Ukrainian drones.

According to Zelensky, Ukrainian drones have already proven themselves on the battlefield, and work is underway to expand production, including interceptor drones. New agreements with American partners in this area are planned to be signed next week.

Separately, the president announced further updates to the National Security and Defense Council after the government reboot. He spoke with the new NSDC chairman, Rustem Umerov, who is already preparing the first decisions. Zelensky also noted that he plans to talk with the new Prime Minister, Yulia Svirydenko, to coordinate the government’s further actions.

Earlier, diplomat and presenter Dmitry Chekalkin stated that currently Russia does not show any desire to move to real peace negotiations , as evidenced in particular by the statements of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. At the same time, the Kremlin continues to drag out the process, playing on the personal ambitions of US President Donald Trump.

Recall that after the NATO summit in The Hague, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin lashed out at the Alliance and once again stated that Moscow had been deceived by breaking its promise not to expand NATO to the East. He also assured that Russia wants to end the war in Ukraine with “the desired result,” so Russian defense spending, which currently amounts to 13.5 trillion rubles, is aimed precisely at this. At the same time, Putin said that the West is trying to bury Russia’s economy, but believes that “they will soon die, and they are burying us.”

As reported by “Pryamiy”, on June 20, Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin made a series of cynical statements regarding the course of the war with Ukraine. He made it clear that he planned to seize all of Ukraine , because he considers it “ours”, that is, “Russian”. Putin also cynically said that the Russian Federation has an “old rule: wherever a Russian soldier steps, it is ours”.
