US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the loss of Donetsk is a logically serious problem for Ukraine from a national security perspective.
He said this on December 22, Clash Report reports.
According to Vence, Ukrainian officials privately acknowledge that they could lose Donetsk in the future, but at the same time, they understand the consequences of such a scenario.
“The Ukrainians quite logically view the loss of Donetsk as a serious security problem, even if they privately acknowledge that they will ultimately lose Donetsk,” the US Vice President noted.
It was previously reported that the American team is using pressure to persuade the Ukrainian side to accept a peace agreement that would supposedly end the war.
As is known, US peace negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner demanded that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky agree to the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas , as Russia insists.
As a reminder, following negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations in Geneva , the US peace plan for Ukraine underwent significant changes.
Incidentally, US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the war in Ukraine has proven more difficult than in the Middle East, although he expects good news in the near future .
