Ukraine Proposes Black Sea Truce to Russia as Attacks Threaten Grain Exports

Ukraine has offered Russia a mutual halt to attacks on civilian targets in the Black Sea, with the proposal conveyed through an intermediary. Kyiv is still awaiting Moscow’s response.

According to the publication, Ukraine has offered Russia to mutually abandon attacks on civilian targets in the Black Sea.

The initiative comes amid mutual accusations between Kyiv and Moscow of strikes on infrastructure and facilities related to grain transportation. Both sides have previously said that such attacks could affect global food prices.

At the same time, Ukraine’s proposal appeared against the backdrop of reports of pressure from Washington regarding strikes on Russian ports.

Military analyst Robert Clark previously stated that the US is trying to convince Ukraine to reduce the number of such attacks.

It was also reported that US Vice President J.D. Vance appealed to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to stop drone strikes on non-Russian tankers in the Black Sea.

So far, Russia has not responded to the Ukrainian proposal.
