Ukraine received 170 million euros from Europe: funds will be directed to housing programs

The Council of Europe Development Bank has transferred another 170 million euros to Ukraine, which will be used for housing programs.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko.

She said that 70 million euros will go to the project “HOME: compensation for destroyed housing.”

“These are another 1,500 housing certificates for the Restoration and the opportunity for 4,000 families to purchase new homes to replace the destroyed ones. Priority is given to Defenders, people with disabilities, and large families,” the official explained.

According to her, thanks to the project, more than 7,600 Ukrainians were provided with new housing, and more than 24,000 Ukrainian families received housing certificates.

The remaining funds will be directed to support internally displaced persons. In particular, this includes assistance with living expenses, housing, children’s education, and integration into communities.

“The housing sector remains one of the most affected areas. In total, more than 135 thousand families have used the eRecovery program and received compensation for repairing damaged housing, or buying or building a new one to replace the destroyed one,” Svyrydenko added.

Earlier, Kyiv and Copenhagen launched a new program, under which Denmark is allocating an additional $375 million for the reconstruction of Ukraine .
