Ukraine received a new package of missiles for NASAMS air defense systems the day before. This week, Kyiv plans to hold new negotiations with partners on strengthening air defense and further supplies.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in an evening address.
According to him, Ukraine received a “very good” package of missiles for NASAMS. Zelensky thanked the partners who are fulfilling the agreements and transferring missiles for air defense systems to Ukraine.
Separately, Kyiv continues to work on supplying Patriot missiles. Zelensky noted that Ukraine is talking about the need for such missiles with all partners.
F-16 fighters are also to strengthen the defense of Ukrainian skies. Belgium has decided to transfer three more aircraft to Ukraine this year . According to the president, the Ukrainian military, in particular, uses combat aircraft to destroy the “Shaheeds”.
Zelensky also spoke about the work of air defense during the latest Russian attacks. At night, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones, and the Ukrainian military also managed to shoot down a ballistic target.
Russia launched more than a hundred drones during the day. As of 6:00 p.m., 29 of them were jet drones, 18 of which were shot down. According to Zelensky, air defense forces also destroyed most of the conventional Shaheds.
