On October 1, Ukraine received another tranche of financial assistance from the European Union — 4 billion euros as part of the G7 ERA (Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration) international initiative.
This was reported by the Ministry of Finance.
“These funds are another step towards Ukraine’s financial stability. They will help cover critical needs in the social, military, and reconstruction sectors,” said Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.
In total, within the framework of the ERA mechanism, Ukraine has already received 14 billion euros out of the planned 18.1 billion.
The remaining amount should arrive by the end of 2025.
The ERA mechanism is a joint initiative of the G7 countries, which provides for lending to Ukraine from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets. The total volume of the program is up to $50 billion.
Since the start of the full-scale war, the EU has become the largest donor to Ukraine, providing over €62.5 billion in direct budget support.
As reported, the European Commission has developed a new initiative that involves using the proceeds from frozen Russian assets to finance a large-scale loan to Ukraine . This is an amount of 140 billion euros, which Kyiv will be able to receive to support the budget and strengthen the defense sector.
