During the NATO Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Helsingborg, Sweden, Ukraine received new commitments from its partners to fund the PURL initiative. An additional funding source was also unlocked, which will help cover some of the program’s needs.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha announced this, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, one of the key tasks of the Ukrainian delegation at the NATO ministerial meeting, set by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy , was to strengthen the PURL program.

Sybiga emphasized that PURL is a critically important initiative to purchase American weapons, providing a significant portion of Ukraine’s needs to defend against Russian ballistic attacks.

“As a result of the negotiations, new commitments regarding contributions have been made. I won’t disclose specific countries or amounts for now—relevant announcements will follow. Furthermore, we have managed to unlock another source of funding, which will cover an additional portion of the needs under the PURL program,” the Foreign Minister noted.

He also emphasized that due to the scale of Russian terrorism, work on the program’s content continues, and Ukraine calls on its allies to continue to support the initiative.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy thanked all partners who contribute to PURL, NATO for administering the program, and the Alliance’s Secretary General , Mark Rutte , for facilitating funding.

Earlier, Pryamoy reported that Ukraine and NATO discussed the main areas of cooperation within the framework of the Joint Analysis, Training, and Education Center (JATEC).

It was also reported that Russia could pose a threat to NATO countries in the near future , and the Kremlin’s accusations against the Baltic countries could be part of preparations for opening a second front against the Alliance.
