Another 11 children from the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region were returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine. Among them, seven boys and four girls, aged from 1 year 4 months to 17 years.
This was announced by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
According to him, the Save Ukraine charity organization helped return the children as part of the presidential initiative Bring Kids Back UA.
During the occupation, children and their families faced threats, pressure, and intimidation from the Russians.
In particular, a 16-year-old boy survived an armed attack by Russian soldiers in his own home. In an occupation school, he and other children were forced to learn how to handle weapons and fly combat drones.
Another 17-year-old was forced to attend an occupation school by Russians through threats and later conscripted. In addition, the occupiers regularly came to his family home with armed searches.
The family of an eight-year-old girl also faced threats. The Russians threatened to take the child to an orphanage if she did not attend a Russian school. There, the children were forced to participate in propaganda activities, including drawing postcards for the Russian military.
Currently, all 11 children are in Ukrainian-controlled territory, where they are receiving the necessary assistance.
According to Prokudin, since the beginning of 2026, 219 children have already been returned from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region.
