Eight more children were returned from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. Among them, five girls and three boys aged 7 to 16.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson OVA, Oleksandr Prokudin.

Among the children who were successfully evacuated from the occupation is a nine-year-old girl. The Russians forced her to attend school, where she was forbidden to speak Ukrainian. The child was also forced to participate in Russian propaganda movements, sing the Russian national anthem, and write letters to Russian soldiers.

All eight children are now safe. They are receiving psychological help, undergoing reintegration at Hope and Recovery centers, and specialists are helping them restore their documents.

The children were returned with the help of the Save Ukraine charity organization as part of the presidential initiative Bring Kids Back UA.

According to Prokudin, since the beginning of 2026, 243 children have already been returned from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

The work to return Ukrainian children from the occupation continues.
