Ukraine should adopt the negotiating tactics of Israel and the US – Poroshenko
The fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, stated on the air of the “Politclub” program with Vitaly Portnikov on the “Espresso” TV channel that Ukraine must learn lessons from the situation in the Middle East, because the Iranian model of behavior in negotiations was copied from Russia.

“I am firmly convinced that the attack with the participation of the United States, their B2 bombers, the use of special bombs and Tomahawk missiles are in the interests of Ukraine. Iran is a member of the coalition consisting of the Russian Federation, Belarus, and North Korea, which is waging war against Ukraine. I want to emphasize that Ukraine also played an important role in weakening Iran. Imagine that hundreds of intercontinental or at least medium-range ballistic missiles that Iran sent to the Russian Federation to strike against Ukraine could hit Israel this night,” Poroshenko said.
He emphasized that many of the casualties suffered by Ukraine due to the missile strike were of Iranian origin.
“The huge number of “Shaheeds” that hit all Ukrainian cities every night are either Iranian-made or use Iranian technology. In such a situation, the destruction of “Shaheed” production plants, missiles, and nuclear weapons development centers is certainly in the interest of Ukraine and the world,” the fifth President of Ukraine is convinced.
Poroshenko added that another lesson worth learning is that the conversation that dictators understand is exclusively the language of force.
He noted that Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and political advisers gave Iran their own Russian-style advice – not to refuse, but to agree to both a return to nuclear talks and a ceasefire, but to make their demands first. However, the US and Israel launched an attack.
“The blow was so powerful, I am sure that the world, global security only benefited from this blow. What conclusions, what lessons should Ukraine draw? We must follow the same tactics. I have repeatedly said and will repeat it again now, a deadline must be set within which Putin must respond to the ceasefire proposal. A week, ten days, no more. When Putin rejects this proposal, as Iran did, we are not talking about a strike on nuclear facilities now, but we clearly know what needs to be done. Number one is a sharp increase in weapons supplies,” Poroshenko claims.
He emphasized that this is possible not only through budgetary funding from the US government or NATO, but by launching the Lend-Lease program. Lend-Lease is access without direct funding to Pentagon warehouses. Ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, military equipment, missiles and everything from this component.
“The second position is sanctions. And sanctions should be decisive actions by the Americans. Sanctions exclusively by other countries – NATO or EU members and Britain – are not enough. An example is a ceiling for the price of oil. Without the Americans, this type of sanctions does not work, which is why the 18th package of sanctions by Europe was postponed. The third position is money and financing. And the fourth position is strengthening security guarantees. As soon as Putin hears this language of force, this is the only chance, when Putin understands that his chances are hopeless,” Poroshenko emphasized.
He emphasized that Ukraine needs to actively work in the US Congress, working with Democrats and Republicans.
“We have to come up with a scenario to ensure that this war also becomes a war of the United States. So far, everything is happening exactly the opposite for us. When I say “a war of the United States,” this does not mean the direct participation of the United States. God forbid a nuclear component. Nothing like that. The Americans must understand that ending the war in Ukraine is in their interests,” he explained.
As a reminder, the United States Air Force attacked Iran’s nuclear infrastructure , including the most protected facility in Fordow. Later, Pentagon chief Pete Haggett said that the United States’ strikes had destroyed Iran’s nuclear program .
