Ukraine switches to winter time: when to change clocks in October 2025

In Ukraine this year, the transition to winter time will take place on the night of October 25 to 26, 2025.

So, at 4 a.m., the clocks will need to be turned back one hour — from 4:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Thus, the country will once again switch to Kyiv Standard Time (UTC+2), which corresponds to its natural time zone.

Most modern gadgets — smartphones, laptops, tablets — will make the change automatically, as they synchronize with Internet time servers. At the same time, owners of mechanical and wall clocks will have to do it manually. Experts also advise taking the time change into account when planning trips, as transport schedules — trains, buses, or flights — may be adjusted to the new time.

Despite the fact that the Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill to abandon seasonal clock changes, the document has not yet been signed by the president. Therefore, in the fall of 2025, Ukrainians will traditionally return to winter time and again go through a period of adaptation to the change in the daily rhythm.

It was also previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is preparing to launch a new social program “Warm Winter” , which will provide for a one-time payment of 6,500 hryvnias to certain categories of citizens for support during the winter period of 2025/26.
