Ukraine has tested Phantom MK-1 humanoid robots, developed by the American company Foundation Future Industries. The robots performed logistical tasks in dangerous areas that could put the military at risk.
This is reported by CNBC .
The American company Foundation Future Industries, founded in 2024, develops autonomous humanoid robots for industrial and military use.
In early 2026, the company sent two Phantom MK-1 robots to Ukraine for a pilot demonstration. The Foundation said this was the first known use of humanoid robots in a combat zone.
The tests were conducted with the support of the US government and in cooperation with Ukrainian officials. The main purpose of the tests was to verify the capabilities of robots in the field of logistics in dangerous areas.
The company’s CEO, Sankaet Pathak, said that during the tests, the robots demonstrated the ability to perform delivery and retrieval tasks that are usually associated with risk for military personnel.
According to journalists, Russia’s war against Ukraine has already become one of the main testing grounds for robotic systems and artificial intelligence technologies. Ground robots for cargo delivery, as well as autonomous and AI-equipped drones, are already being used on the front lines.
At the same time, the material notes that the Phantom MK-1 robots have a number of technical limitations. In particular, they can carry a load weighing about 20 kilograms, do not have sufficient protection against moisture, and are limited by battery life.
The company plans to send an improved Phantom 2 model to Ukraine this year. According to Pathak, the new version will have twice the payload capacity compared to the previous model. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense declined to comment on the information about the tests of the robots.
It was previously reported that Ukraine received 2 Phantom MK-1 humanoid robots to evaluate their effectiveness in combat conditions . The robots are planned to be used primarily to perform reconnaissance missions on the front line.
