Ukraine Takes Aim at Ballistic Defense with New Missile Test

Ukrainian company Fire Point announced the successful testing of the FP-7.X missile. This development should serve as the basis for the future FREYJA anti-ballistic interceptor.

The developers reported that during the tests, the missile performed a fully controlled maneuvering flight. Fire Point called this test one of the important stages in the development of the future system for intercepting ballistic targets.

The company noted that the goal of the project is to help Ukraine in the future create its own means of protecting the sky without dependence on external supplies.

“Each successful test of a new missile is a step towards our technological sovereignty,” the developers emphasized.

Fire Point also stated that the development of its own missile technologies is a matter not only of defense but also of the state’s strategic independence.

As a reminder, Ukrainian gunsmiths are completing preparations for flight tests of the new FP-9 ballistic missile, capable of striking strategic targets at long ranges. In parallel, work is underway on a new anti-ballistic shield.
