Ukraine is tightening control over school attendance. The police will promptly receive information about students who do not show up for classes without a valid reason.
This was reported by the head of the juvenile prevention department of the National Police, Vasyl Bohdan.
The government has approved changes to the procedure for registering preschool and school-age children. The decision provides for faster exchange of information between educational institutions, children’s services, and units of the National Police.
The innovations will allow for a prompt response to cases where a child is absent from school or has dropped out of the educational process. At the same time, the changes define clear deadlines for data processing and information transmission.
According to Bohdan, the updated mechanism should strengthen the protection of the child’s right to education and safety, as well as improve interaction between authorities and educational institutions.
