In 2025, Ukraine ranked second among European Union countries in grain production. Ukrainian farmers harvested 57.6 million tons of grain and 17.3 million tons of oilseeds.

The Ministry of Economy reported this.

After the corn harvest, Ukraine’s total grain harvest is projected to reach approximately 60 million tons. The agency emphasized that such figures are crucial in the context of European integration, as Ukraine already outperforms most EU countries in grain production.

Specifically, in 2025, Ukraine harvested 23.5 million tons of corn, while the total production of this crop in the EU countries amounted to 57 million tons. Ukraine also retained its leadership in sunflower production, with 9 million tons, compared to 8.5 million tons in all EU countries combined.

Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Taras Vysotsky noted that Ukraine is one of the key grain producers in Europe and the world, and its integration into the EU strengthens the union’s food resilience in the face of global challenges.
