Ukraine to receive air defense missiles from Canada
Canada will transfer AIM missiles to Ukraine for air defense systems, Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov announced after a conversation with Canadian Minister David McGuinty.
This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The department explained that AIM missiles work well against Russian cruise missiles. A batch of weapons has already left for Ukraine.
Mykhailo Fedorov thanked Canada for its support and emphasized that Ottawa’s participation in the PURL initiative helped Ukraine repel massive Russian air attacks.
During the conversation, the parties also discussed cooperation in the field of drones. Ukraine is interested in joint projects with Canadian companies that work with drone control.
Separately, the ministers focused on the training of the Ukrainian military, in which Canada is participating.
As previously reported, Poland and Ukraine have agreed to launch joint production in the defense-industrial complex, including drones and other weapons.
Recall that the US will continue to provide Ukraine with offensive weapons until a peace agreement is signed.
