Ukraine to start 2026 Paralympics: 19 athletes to compete on first day

The Ukrainian national team is beginning its competition for the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games . Nineteen Ukrainian athletes will compete on the first day of competition.

Most of them – 18 athletes – will compete in five biathlon races. Another Ukrainian para-athlete, Vladislav Khilchenko , will compete in snowboard cross.

Live broadcasts of the competitions involving Ukrainians will be available on the Public Sport platform and on local Public TV channels.

As a reminder, Ukrainian para-athlete Taras Rad won a gold medal in the sitting class parabiathlon at the 2026 Winter Paralympics . This is Ukraine’s first medal at the Games and also its first gold.
