Ukraine was attacked by over two hundred UAVs: how the air defense worked

On the night of Wednesday, April 22, Russian occupation forces launched a massive drone attack on Ukraine. Air defense forces neutralized most of the enemy drones.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to their data, the attack began on the evening of April 21. In total, the enemy launched 215 strike drones of various types, including Shahed, as well as simulator drones. The launches were carried out from the territory of Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups were involved in repelling the attack.

“As of 08:00, air defense forces have shot down or suppressed 189 enemy drones,” the Air Force reported.

At the same time, 24 strike drones were recorded hitting 13 locations, and debris from downed UAVs fell in several other places.

The Air Force noted that the attack is not over — enemy drones still remain in Ukrainian airspace.

As a reminder, on the night of Wednesday, April 22, Russian occupation forces massively struck several regions of Ukraine with drones and other types of weapons . The Odessa, Zaporizhia, and Sumy regions were under attack.
