Ukraine will be hit by a sharp cold snap: forecasters warn of severe frosts on Christmas

Dry and cold air has arrived in Ukraine from the Barents Sea, and a further decrease in temperature and the peak of the first wave of frost are expected on December 25.
This was reported by weather forecaster Vitaliy Postrygan.
According to him, the coldest morning of December 24 was in Chernihiv region. The Pokoshichi weather station recorded a temperature of -13 degrees.
“But this is not the limit. The plunge into winter begins,” the forecaster noted.
Strygan explained that the culmination of the cold will fall on Christmas Day, December 25. According to his forecast, an anticyclone from the north will form partly cloudy and dry weather, which will create conditions for additional nighttime cooling of the air.
“The anticyclone from the north will form partly cloudy dry weather and create conditions for additional nighttime air cooling, to which the thermometer columns will immediately react,” he explained.
At the same time, the situation will change on December 26. According to the forecaster, a diving cyclone from the northeast will weaken the frosts, bring snow and strong winds of dangerous magnitudes.
