Ukraine will receive 100 million euros from Sweden: where will the funds be directed?

The Swedish government has announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth over 1.1 billion Swedish kronor (approximately 100 million euros). The funds are aimed at covering the country’s most urgent needs during the winter period and strengthening its resilience in the future.

This is stated in a statement from the Swedish government, “European Truth” reports.

It is noted that the funding includes supporting energy supply, restoring damaged infrastructure, implementing reforms, and strengthening the healthcare system.

Minister of Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dusa noted that the new package was designed taking into account the needs that are most important for the winter period, as well as for the long-term strengthening of Ukraine’s resilience.

Swedish Minister of Energy and Economic Affairs Ebba Busch stressed the importance of supporting the energy sector: “A secure energy supply is a key element of overall defense. Together with international partners, we are strengthening Ukraine’s energy security, which at the same time increases the defense capability of all of Europe.”

Sweden continues to provide significant assistance to Ukraine, focusing resources on areas that allow the country to weather the winter and prepare for future challenges.

As a reminder,the Nordic and Baltic countries have announced a new $500 million support package for Ukraine , which will be used to purchase American weapons and ammunition. The funds are being provided by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden as part of NATO’s PURL initiative.

As previously reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the first Swedish Gripen fighter jets will arrive in Ukraine next year. This decision will significantly strengthen combat aviation and the country’s security guarantees.
