The Netherlands will allocate 26.5 million euros for the reconstruction and development of Ukraine in 2027. The funds are provided within the framework of the Ukraine Partnership Facility (UPF) program, which will be extended next year.
This was announced by the Minister of Reconstruction, Infrastructure and Transport Mykola Kalashnyk following a meeting with the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Ukraine Roelof van Eys.
“We agreed to work out the possibilities of attracting this funding to joint Ukrainian-Dutch projects for the restoration and development of infrastructure. Among our priorities are ensuring uninterrupted water and heat supply, strengthening the energy independence of communities,” Kalashnyk noted.
The meeting also discussed Kyiv’s needs for pumping equipment, generators, and energy storage systems. In addition, the parties considered the possibility of involving Dutch manufacturers in temporary bridge construction projects.
Another area of cooperation could be the development of ties between the ports of Odessa and Rotterdam.
“In the context of constant Russian attacks on Ukrainian port infrastructure, such interaction is important for preserving international logistics routes. We also suggested that the Netherlands join the Ukrainian Transport Support Fund,” the minister emphasized.
Kalashnik thanked the government and people of the Netherlands for their support for Ukraine and emphasized the importance of restoring infrastructure that will be able to operate stably even in conditions of military threats.
It was previously reported that the Netherlands will provide Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets with maintenance, spare parts, and ammunition. This should strengthen Ukrainian air defense capabilities amid massive Russian attacks.
