Ukraine will receive 300 million euros from the Netherlands: what will the funds be used for?

The Netherlands has announced the allocation of 300 million euros to support Ukraine’s recovery in 2025 and 2026. Part of these funds will be directed to the restoration of energy infrastructure.

This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Kaspar Veldkamp.

“It is important for Ukraine to maintain the functioning of the economy and society, because this is support in its struggle. In fact, this is a continuation of front-line actions,” he said at the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine in Rome.

Veldkamp noted that in 2025, the Dutch government will allocate 52 million euros to repair energy and drinking water systems.

Also, 30 million euros will be allocated to support Dutch companies and organizations that are helping in the reconstruction and development of the country.

These funds are part of a total of almost 500 million euros that the Netherlands has already provided in non-military assistance to Ukraine, which is in its fourth year of resisting a full-scale Russian invasion.

The Netherlands is one of Ukraine’s largest partners in Europe. They supply modern fighter jets, air defense systems, drones, ships, and organize training, energy, and humanitarian projects. The assistance includes direct supplies, strategic initiatives, and investments in manufacturing in Ukraine.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Netherlands has provided Ukraine with almost 6 billion euros in military assistance.

As a reminder, Ukrainian defenders will receive new equipment for evacuating the wounded from the front line — 20 fast and mobile Ermine buggies, which will be manufactured by the German defense concern Rheinmetall . The project will be financed by the Netherlands.

As reported, the Netherlands announced a new financial support package for Ukraine totaling about 175 million euros , which will be an addition to existing contracts.

By the way, the lower house of the Dutch parliamentrecognized the deportation of Crimean Tatars by the Soviet regime in 1944 as an act of genocide.
