The European Commission has prepared the basis for EU countries to agree on the final tranche of €45 billion in loan assistance to Ukraine. The funds are planned to be provided by the end of 2027, including €13.3 billion to support the state budget and €31.7 billion to develop the defense industry.

This is reported by Reuters .

In total, the European Union has agreed on a loan program for Ukraine for 90 billion euros until the end of 2027. Half of this amount is planned to be paid in 2026.

The European Commission has prepared the conditions for EU countries to approve the remaining €45 billion in loan assistance. Brussels has already determined how it plans to distribute the funds in 2027:

  • 13.3 billion euros to support the state budget of Ukraine;
  • 31.7 billion euros for the development of the Ukrainian defense industry.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that the proposed plan should provide Ukraine with predictable funding and support the work of state institutions.

“With today’s proposal, we are providing Ukraine with much-needed predictability and helping to maintain essential public services,” she said.

The European Commission also positively assessed the strategy by which Ukraine plans to finance its needs.

We remind you that Ukraine received another $404.5 million from Japan and the World Bank for the development of the healthcare system. The funds have already been transferred to the state budget.

Earlier, Ukraine received another 1.2 billion euros from the European Union under the Ukraine Support Loan program. The funds will be directed to the priority needs of the Defense Forces.
