Ukraine will receive a military aid package from the Netherlands: what will it include?

The Netherlands has announced a new financial support package for Ukraine totaling approximately 175 million euros, which will be in addition to existing contracts.

This was stated by Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans on the eve of the start of the NATO summit in The Hague, the press service of the country’s Defense Ministry reports.

As part of the new package, Ukraine will receive 100 additional radar systems designed to detect unmanned aerial vehicles. These radars will be able to track drones and transmit information to air defense systems for their effective destruction. The deliveries are planned to be completed by the end of this year.

In addition, Ukraine will receive 20 partially unmanned Ermine casevac vehicles, which are used to evacuate the wounded from the combat zone.

The Netherlands is also increasing funding for the drone coalition project with an additional €80 million. The country has previously invested €20 million in this area. This new package complements the recent €400 million aid package aimed at strengthening maritime security.

In addition, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof said that NATO is preparing a large-scale initiative to support Ukraine. According to him, the Alliance will soon officially announce a new assistance package, which includes the supply of drones, missile weapons and air defense systems. Schoof emphasized that this will significantly strengthen military support for Ukraine.

Recall that the Netherlands will provide Ukraine with ships, boats and naval drones , for a total of 400 million euros as part of a new military assistance package.

As previously reported, Finland is preparing to transfer a new, 29th package of military assistance to Ukraine worth about 143 million euros.
