Ukraine will review the structure of state bodies and cut thousands of vacancies

In the central executive bodies, at the first stage of optimization, it is planned to reduce more than 4 thousand vacant positions. The government also intends to reduce the number of deputy ministers and heads of other central executive bodies.
This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretsky.
According to him, before determining the final structure and number of employees, the government will conduct a functional diagnosis of the state apparatus.
It should show what functions the authorities perform, how well they meet the current tasks of the state, and where the structure can be optimized.
The number of deputy ministers is planned to be reduced by approximately 20% , and the number of deputy heads of other central executive bodies by almost 18% .
A separate area of change will be the system of professional training for civil servants. It is planned to tie it to the tasks of a specific position.
The government is preparing information and internship programs for young people, and a separate program is planned for veterans.
Koretsky also reported that the Council on Public Administration, which includes representatives of the government, parliament, and experts, has already resumed its work. At its meeting, a detailed plan of changes was presented and those responsible for individual areas were identified.
According to the Prime Minister, the goal of the reform is to create a professional state apparatus that will be able to perform its tasks faster and more efficiently.
As a reminder, the government previously announced its intention to reduce about 4,300 vacant positions in central executive bodies . At that time, it was also about reducing the number of deputies in ministries and other state bodies.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers announced a comprehensive review of the public administration system , which involves analyzing the functions of bodies, the number of employees, and internal processes.
